Shift cover

Someone can't make it. Someone can.

An employee offers a shift. A teammate asks for it. A manager approves, and both of them hear back. Nobody texts around, and nothing changes hands without a manager's yes.

He offers it. Tyler can't make tomorrow. He offers the shift from the app, and it stays his until a manager approves cover.
She asks for it. Ava sees the open shift and asks for it. It says Sent to manager: she doesn't have it yet.
The manager decides. The request lands in the manager's Inbox with what happens if she approves.
Shift covered. Only after the manager approves does the shift change hands.
Ava hears back. “You got the shift” — with the date and time.

The manager's side, recorded.

A real screen recording of a manager's Inbox: the cover request, who's asking, and what happens if they approve. One tap on Approve — assign shift, and it's done. If nobody asks, the manager can move the shift to open shifts.

It stays theirs until it's covered.

Offering a shift doesn't drop it. It stays on the employee's schedule until a manager approves someone to take it, so an unanswered request never leaves a shift without a name on it.

Plans change. The shift still gets covered.
